I don't know much about the US election, but have seen quite a lot about it on blogs etc. It is frightening what you are talking about. In the UK too people complain about others being 'different' or terrorists etc. (though this is focused mainly on immigrant communities, even when many of them are now 2nd or 3rd generation immigrants) when you are right that both countries are based on immigration or a so called 'mixing pot', where in America everyone had their right to the American Dream, but this just seems to be some kind of backward looking ideal and people in reality are quick to call people 'different' whenever it suits them.

It is so unfortunate that people are still stuck in very old ways of thinking. I would like to think that in 2008, people would get past the ignorance, but I guess there will always be those who will not accept someone who is different.

Yeah it's pretty wild to see where this is going. I guess you can say that they've showed their truest colors. People (whites) have always been afraid of an educated blackman. It is what it is. Gotta keep moving forward.

It seems as if they realized that the negative attacks aren't working, so maybe we can start focusing on the issues.
